software raid-0 performance

how does software raid-0 compare to pure hardware raid-0? more specifically comparing the speed of the raid controller on the intel badaxe board opposed to the promise supertrak ex8350. thnk you!

These onboard SATA raids don't count as pure software raid either.

As you can see, it pretty much scales with the number of harddrives without further overheap, so it's about the maximum speed you can expect.
