Software or Hardware Issue

I've got a Sony laptop that freezes for a few seconds whenever Netflix, YouTube and web browsing is done. Its more common with watching online videos but does happen when doing general browsing.

To clarify, when I say freezing I mean the keyboard and mouse will not respond and the sound will be "stuck" while it is frozen.

I've had it twice to Sony for repair. For the first time. They replaced the motherboard which changed the length of the freeze (used to freeze for a good 10-15 seconds with same symptoms). The second time they couldn't replicate the problem even though I can personally witness it freeze usually within 15 minutes of starting the video. Sony has advised me that their techs don't stand in front of a laptop and they aren't willing to. They have told me its either a streaming issue (but why would it lock up the whole computer?) Or its malware (something that they still state even after I have advised them that a clean install with a Windows 7 image from Microsoft and a factory reset from the Sony dvd has been done.

Any help would be greatly appreciate. I feel like there is a hardware issue but Sony isn't willing to work with me to replicate it. Any advice on how to escalate this?

What browser are you using?

Keep an eye on a desktop widget that monitors cpu usage during the occurrence. I suggest Core Temp Widget.
Do all the cores spike up to 100%?

get the widget here

It does it on both IE 9 and Chrome.

Good suggestion on the Core Temp widget. I'll check out CPU utilization and post back. Any chance if it has an option to log the data (or any other program that would)?
