What I want is a software-based KVM package (similar to Synergy+ or Multiplicity) with the added feature of being able to move windows across platforms (so, something like Synergy+ with VNC built in, but perhaps with some additional logic).
If memory serves, I've seen something like this in the distant past, but it was fairly buggy and/or completely unusable.
Ideally it would be cross-platform with at least support for Windows and Linux. It would allow manipulation of environments from either keyboard / mouse in a two machine setup, and would not disrupt focus or cause games to minimize if interacting with a window from another machine.
Is this a pipe dream? I would gladly pay for this software, or donate a reasonable amount to an open source project. I just can't find it.
