I grabbed an old dell laptop (circa 2001), which is in great condition. I put it in a box, flipped the monitor around and installed slickr. All go. Then I moved it to my apartment and went to enable WPA and discovered that it was a non-service pack edition of XP. I went to update it and discovered it was a non-legit copy of XP, so it's not updateable.

I would like to get rid of that and do this in a legit fasion. Does anyone have any ideas for a linux distro that would be good for this project? Something that would be easy to install, easy to manage remotely, and would allow for something like slickr - a screen saver that pulls from one of my flickr photo albums.

The CD Drive is pretty unaccessable at this point, so ideally it would be something that I can install via usb drive. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
