Has anyone out there ever had to audit a software program step by step to compare how a system performed before installing a software application and after?
I'm simply looking for some guide on this process. Ideas to help me develop a plan for auditing a program we are looking to install. I know I learned a bit in college, but i want to take it a bit further and thought maybe someone out there has come across a useful guide.
Would be using tools such as procmon, tcpview, procdump, wireshark (ethereal), etc...
