Yeah, I'm one of those crazy people with an old socket A mobile processor. Anyway, I'd like to know of some good heatsinks for 80mm fans, since I have many of them laying around that I like.

well if ya order a new heatsink.. might as well pay 5 bucks mroe for a bigger fan that fits on a good HS.... sp-97 or si-97.. Iforgot what it's called from thermalright.

I used to own one of that heatsink (Pipe101). they r good heatsink, but i am not happy with the temp. I was expectin it to hit 40C with 92mm tornado in room temp, but never happen.

The reason behind this cuz I owned Volcano 12+ before Pipe101. I got the same temperature with Pipe101 on my 3200+ xp at stock speed. I am not noob puter builder @ all, and I kno that I did the rite thing by adding thin layer of AS5 and properly seat it.

Pipe101 with tornado (3200+ xp): 44C idle and 47C load
Volcano 12+ @ full speed (3200+ xp): 44C idle and 49C load

I think u should get Thermalright's SI-97 heatsink which outperform TT's heatsink was told by many reviewers.

:(

well ya can't expect much since it's all about the room temp. :p and the volcano did a great job already givn the room tmp.. and the pipe101 just did a litle mroe with the same air blowing in... for me.. my hyper 6 and my old silentboost has VERY similar temps...

I'd also recommend the SI-97 with a 92mm fan (I'm using a Nexus). This setup is working perfectly for me on an overclocked Sempron.

SI-97 w/High Speed Panaflo FTW. ThermalRight Rapes Thermaltake.

I was actually kind of thinking of the Scythe FCS-50 HSF, because of the way my case is set up...

I have two intake 80mm's in the front there, one intake on the side with a hommade airduct, and a 120mm on the back for exhaust. I have a vantec aeroflow HSF right now, and I'm not happy with noise or performance. I don't like having such a pent-up area for exhaust, I know that reduces some airflow, but there's not much I can do about it.

Right now the side fan seems kinda out of place, to exhaust wold seem weird because of the HSF right there, but to intake seems like an overkill on intake fans.
