I have an emachines computer with a 1.3ghz celeron socket 370. I am in the process of building a new computer with an amd athlon 2500+. My celeron has a cooler master HSF. I was wondering if I could use this socket 370 fan on my socket A processor? Are they the same?

It will fit fine.

I dont know if that heatsink will cool a 2500+ sufficiently though. For sure give it a try and test it against the stock HSF that comes with the 2500+.

yeah, i'm sure the cpu fan on an emachines computer is not nice.
the most it might cool is maybe a 1800+ or something. but it is good news to hear that 370's are compatable with socket a's.

The one that comes with the CPU is fine. The one for the Celery most likely will not dissipate enough heat.
