Ok guys,

Need to air cool a XP 3200+. I am trying to decide between the Zalman 7000 or the Thermalright SI-97. Which is better and if you have any other suggestions please fell free to add them.
 
actually, if you can find an sp-97 or slk-900a, i'd get that over the si-97.. they just weigh more.. a lot more

Otherwise I wouldnt spend too much, the Alpha Socket A cooler works great. I have it in my rig & brothers rig, works great, but they like the air pulled through them rather than pushed on them, FYI, but they still work fine and are pretty cheap, not to mention they mount onto your board rock solid.
 
I'd opt for the SLK900a also...

I had that baby cooling my Mobile 2400+ @ 1.9v
 
wow I can find reviews all over for it but I just can't find anyone who still sells it!

why no zalman love? I got a 2600M and I could get that baby so much higher than I have it.
when you are at about .6-.8 above where the actual speeds start at and you still arent even seeing mid forties, its wonderful.

i've used both a zalman and slk-900a on my barton. the slk is better by about 5ºc with equivilent noise levels (tornado @ 5v) and ~10ºc with the fan cranked :D
 
I put a Thermaltake Volcano 12 on a 2400+ in my GF's Rig. Keeps it very cool. Myself, I prefer Swiftech or Thermalright.
 
I also have the Volcano 12 on a 3200. It definitely keeps the CPU running cool, it idles at around 39 and gets up to 44 this is with a case temp of 33 so definitely not bad at all. I'm using it with the built in thermal probe attached to the bottom of the CPU and it does get a tad bit loud sometimes but for the price it's definitely worth buying.
