socket 771 (xeon) chassis compatibility - BEWARE!

Please note that the socket 771 CPU heatsinks are not attached to the motherboard, instead the mounting screws go through the motherboard and screw into mounting points located on the motherboard tray of the chassis.

If you chassis doesn't have the proper mounting points, you are SOL.

Take care when buying a chassis to go with your Xeon setup, as next to no regular chassis that accept Extended ATX motherboards will have the mounting points for the socket 771.

I posted this into the Multiprocessor section as well. I think this sort of cross-post is worth it considering that it will save people from buying the wrong chassis and having to deal with returns, and with buying expensive Intel chassis.

Of course some DIY solution will work, I will post mine once I figure out how to mount my CPUs in my Silverstone TJ03.
