I need some suggestions on a socket 478 motherboard for OCing a P4 2.8. I know they must exsist somewhere...hahaha...thanks for whatever info you can pass on!

I'm using an IC7-Max 3 to OC my 3.4 ghz P4 (S478) to 4.12 ghz. I can't seem to push it higher. I don't think it's a limitation on the board, just something I need to figure out.

Just got a Gigabyte 8IPE 1000G

Its got limited options for voltage, stock, +.025%, .050% and .075% Gets to liek 1.71volts

Theres really nothing for memory other than dividers.

But its a good board, got my 2.6 up to 3.2 stable, and only 70 bucks.

The ASUS P4P800 and Epox 4PDA5+ probably offer more for memory and voltage.

Abit IC7-G without a doubt.

The Max-3 version is the best 478 board ever made but theyre impossible to get new and a waste of time to get second hand.

The Asus has bad voltage stablity so doesnt oc as high and Gigabyte just make shit motherboards.

3 for 3 with gigabyte myself, outlasted all my abit and asus boards.

IC7 is hard to find new, mine was good, but a problem I've had with abit is that their boards seem to just give up or die after so long.

I'd say Abit boards are just shit.

Don't see alot of the good and popular boards/chipset combos around now for 478.
