Shouldn't it be out by now? has it been delayed again?

Straight from Robert Hallock at AMD (Thracks):

"Update: The "Mantle" driver reported by WCCFTech and other websites does not actually contain any libraries for Mantle. As of today, the driver's code is more than 6 weeks old and generates irrelevant performance.

Mantle remains on track for January, and you'll be sure to hear the story straight from us this month."

And if this proves to just be delayed marketing hype... AMD once again begins digging their own grave.
 
I don't want to hear AMD's story anymore...enough worthless Marketing flap and slides. I want downloadable drivers for BF4 so I can test it myslef.

After reading through the OCN link, Ive determined that Thracks is an imposter if the Mantle driver is not here by Friday.
 
Doesnt matter... He promised the driver in January. If its not here, Im calling bullshit on his status with the company.

I don't even own an AMD card and a good part of the reason why is shit like this. Dog shit drivers coupled with late fixes (if ever) and empty promises of "whats next".

I could really give two shits what this clown that you so dearly admire says. Hes exactly that, another AMD clown. How about he worries a little more about getting his product on the shelves for MSRP and have his vendors stop gouging (yes, AMD does have the ability to set a price and make vendors adhere to it).

Personally, I'd rather have them delay it and release it w/ little to no bugs rather than rushing it and coming out as shit, you know.. kinda like BF4. I guess AMD saw what happened to BF4 so they made sure those guys on BF4 team don't fuck it up for them.

I bet people who want eyefinity + CF + DX9 frame pacing fixed on their older than 290 cards are saying the same thing. Here we are 2.5 years later. Still not fixed, right? Doz is right. I share Doz' mindset that AMD continually fucks stuff like this up. HD3D, frame pacing, eyefinity, there's such a vast list of fuck ups that it really blows the mind. And that's why I don't prefer AMD these days.

THAT SAID, I really do hope that BF4 Mantle is released this month. One, because a lot of people bought cards due to BF4 and Mantle. Despite what I think of AMD, I don't think 290 users should get fucked over. If AMD promised Mantle this month, they should move mountains to ensure it happens. AMD's userbase deserves to get what they were promised, even if it's only the Mantle driver while DICE is fixing their shit. Period. Two, I really would like the speculation on mantle performance to end. I just want to see what's really up with it. I want to see if it really is all that and a slice of bread, but I do strongly doubt the 45% claims.

It is more then just 290 users also 280 and the people with the new R9 series. And the game would be working well on those lower cards as well.
 
AMD have never said December, They said December to January.

So at this point their have been no delays at all.

people are engaging in revisionist history...AMD/EA said Mantle would initially be released in December via a patch...they never said December to January...they then announced a delay into January

Oh please. I'm not sure what you're even trying to do here, because AMD most definitely did state that BF4 Mantle would be released in December. I get it, I understand why it was delayed, but what you're saying is outright false.

AMD even had a freakin' press release to announce the delay of BF4 Mantle which was supposed to initially be in December, don't play stupid.
