All these motherboards with PCI-E slots on them, and nothing to use in them. When are we getting network cards, TV cards, ATA or SCSI controllers, etc. that go in them? Makes the motherboards just seem like such a waste.

Wow.... I dont want to sound mean.

Listen... The slot on the motherboard has to be their before cards come out... otherwise... then what. We would have a bunch of cards on the market that no one would buy... because they couldent use them.... Think about it logically and in a buisness stand point. Companies want to make money.... They cant do it by making cards that have no slots to go in....

They will surface this year.... Most likely SCSI or SATA II Cards first, Maybe Sound blaster will release a high end soundcard PCIe.... and for sure network cards....

It's not a matter of getting them on the market yet, it's a new slot and it will take some time. But the issue is I haven't even sniffed a PCI-e 1x add-on card in any flavor. I mean at least an announcement would be nice.

I thought I remembered seeing an ethernet card on the market.

I would like to see some PCI-Ex1 and x4 cards.

I have seen some network cards out there for x1but that is it. I suspect we will soon see a sound card and RAID controllers but as previous post have stated, this will all just take time.
