Hey gents,
Has been quite sometime since I last posted on the 'OCP. I currently have an X1900XT and was looking to purchase an 8800GT. (Yes I know hop on the bandwagon). I know there has been ample threads in here that correlate to this topic. However, my situation is a bit different. I am a bit impatient, and seeing as it will probably be quite a bit before Newegg gets anymore 8800GT's in stock - I was wondering what you think would be a good alternative right now. Yes I can spend a bit more - Do I want to? Not really. So if you have any thoughts on what I should do - please add your 2 cents.

Try your local Best Buy, my local one had 2 BFG models, they have a slight OC on them, nothing to write home about but whatever. They were $279 when I got mine last week, I assume they're the same now.

That performs slightly slower than an 8800GT. Maybe it will be worth it when the price is released...

it will cost less and i believe it wont be supply limited like 8800 gt so price will be stable.
