So what happened last night

Was browsing the forum quite happily last night, and then the forums whent offline all of a sudden, when they came back online the usual problems, this went on for about 13 hours?

british time by the way ;)
 
The recent outages have been due to database replication testing issues. Hopefully by the end of the week, we will be reading/writing on one physcial database server, and doing searches on another physical server. A new quad core web server was installed last week and that has to do with the overall speed increase you have seen.

Yeah, when you see database errors....that means there are ERRORS in the database and things are not all OK. So yes, when there are errors, things can be f'ed up. We fix them and move along.

We could always, just take the forums offline for a couple of weeks while we are testing and configuring. ;)
 
i did notice the speed increase.... :)
glad to see the forum working again (fingers crossed & knock on wood :D)
 
New quad core web server made a difference for sure. Once we get the search unloaded to another server, we should see a steady speed around here.
 
Kyle do a lot of people actually use the search? ive only used it about 10 times probably.
