Here's my setup:

P4 3.2E SL7PN @ Stock speeds\volts

120mm CoolingWorks Coolrad
DanderDen D5@Max + TDX 1/2in
T-Line\Zerex\DanderDen Green Dye

The little foam piece that seals in the accelerator plate fell off and was clogging my block...which explains the insaine high temps I was getting lately. I took it apart, and took the accelerator plate out and the little foam piece out, and now my temps are a little lower, but still too high!

At idle, i'm getting 56C, at load i'm hitting 62C with an ambient of 23C, thats a 6C difference! I was getting better temps with a Zalman CNPS9500 with a idle of 48C and a load of 58C!

A change of temp this large - does this mean:
1. My block is not taking heat away quick enough
2. My rad is not removing heat quick enough from the water
3. I'm not getting enough flow
4. Lack of accellerator plate on TDX = bad = stoopid

I just ordered an accellerator plate set from FrozenCPU, so i'm getting some new parts in :)
 
are those your CPU temps or your case temps? If its a CPU temp that is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. I think it might be the accelerator plate. then again, some WC setups perform worse than good air cooling. Wait a second, what WB are you using?
 
How much of a difference does the accelerator plate make?

Im running a 3800x2 @ 240x10 1.4v, and getting load temps of about 43, on an almost identical setup, except ive got a bip2 and 2xlowCFM fans.

Look at the block, without the rubber thing and a plate the water has almost no reason to travel through the channels in the bottom, it will just short-circuit to the outlet.

Probably still better than an AquaComputer block though :p

Yep, thats what I was thinking...ordered a new set of plates tonight from FrozenCPU - i'l planning to see how the last plate with lots of little holes will do in my system :p

Try reseating the block, and not too much arctic silver.

Read the thread with the review results, I made some posts about how actually it would appear by the numbers that the XT can not even beat the RBX when you take into consideration how much higher the flow will be through an RBX if both had a good pump on them.

i don't know about your use of the term "much" in this context since the best that the RBX brings to the table, with it's lower restriction and somewhat higher flow rate is 0.0025 C/W better than the cuplex XT, which is to say a quarter of a degree celcius temperature difference with the proc putting out 100 watts (overclocked a64) a maxed out D4 pump in a loop with a single 120 mm dual pass rad for just the CPU.

the RBX is just a hair better, when both blocks are put into a decent high-flow CPU loop, but no more than a hair.

the cuplex XT is a decently designed block handicaped by a weak pump, ridiculously thin tubing, and the fact that A-C makes crappy rads. the block is not the weakest link in an all A-C loop, so there are better places to direct your critique.

I don't understand what your big objection is. TWG has the explanation down pat. The TDX has (HAS!) to have the seal and the accelorator plate in order to function properly. If they're missing the TDX suffers horribly but that's due to the fact it's designed to have those plates in there.

the part that you point out is fine. i don't think that anyone objects to the technical material that you are pointing out.

TWG's jab at A-C is unnecessary (which seldom stops me) and, more importantly, has little technical merit. see above post.
 
which nozzle works best? Im thinking one that focuses the flow the most?

Also, any places with an explanation on how to install them? I have yet to find a place detailing the install... :(

the more focused the flow, the more restrictive the block is, the less flow that it gets. it's a balancing act. the better focus improving performance, vs the reduction in flow hurting it. it's hard to know off-hand what nozzle will perform best in a given loop, though the fact that you are using a D5 means that you most likely should be using the most restrictive or the second most, since it's got gobs of head pressure.

I think frozencpu.com has a review of the different accelerator plates. IIRC the best one is the one with the biggest holes, probably because it is the least restrictive.
 
At this point I dont really have anything that is extremly restrictive in my loop, just the TDX, res, BIP2, and D5. Will be adding a maze 4 GPU, as the stock cooler is beginning to sound like an airplane.

Il change the nozzle when I add the Maze 4. Probably next weekend... Any tips for draining? Ive got MCT-5 in my loop right now, If I drain it into a bucket can I reuse it?

I understand completely that the TDX and/or RBX NEED to have the accelerator plate to perform really, really well. I had a TDX on a 775, and it was pretty good. What I do have a problem with, though, is that thewhiteguy just insists on bashing AC every chance he gets.

As for the TDX Accelerator plates, I find #4 worked the best for me, with a reletivly high-head pump. Try it. And the nozzles fit only one way. Almost no chance to screw up.

Thanks. All the flaming back and forth about Aqua-Computer is getting old. The stuff is expensive, but I haven't tried it personally so i'm not going to say anything about them.

Someone above said to put it in with the rubber-side down facing the block? I thought the seal was designed to seal the accelerator plate onto the hose barbs, forcing the water to only flow over the waveguide things in the block?

Yes i've read that the D5 has very high head pressure - would plate 5 yield a improvement over plate 4? Plate 5 has many small holes - seems like that would provide much higher water velocities over the block...but anyways, when I recieve the plate set from DangerDen, my final exams will be over and I can disassemble the rig and test each nozzle.
