why when i do a search for waterblocks [gpu] does it return plenty of stuff for 3+ year old hardware and not one gtx200 block?
 
Newegg has never had a very good selection for watercooling stuff. They're better than they used to be though, there's lots of Swiftech stuff.

I've got some older Koolance parts including an old PC2 integrated case with an aluminum radiator. I've never had any issues with them, corrosion or otherwise.

You can link to all the horror stories you want. Koolance doesnt use aluminum in their new blocks. I have 3 of their 285 blocks and their x58 and mosfet block. They work GREAT, and cost close to half the price of other brands. Do your research. They have changed quite drastically in the past couple of years.

Almost forgot about the CPU block is also Koolance. Best bang for your buck in watercooling right now.

Yeah I've been pleased with their VID-487X2 block. They have had manufacturing hiccups (http://forums.koolance.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=479). I've read in a lot of places to stay away from Koolance, but I've had good experience with their CPU and GPU blocks... but I'm relatively new to all this so the jury may still be out :).
 
After reading those "horror" stories, its no wonder that RRR no longer posts on xtreme systems. Also, my koolance blocks keep my 3 285s at a lovely 45c on all three. I need more radiator though.

If you think Naekuh and Waterlogged are expert watercoolers, please excuse yourself from this thread.

Koolance has the LEAST quality of any watercooling manufacturer. And if 84.99 for the K350 is a good deal over the EK supreme @44.99, your mistaken.

Excellent suggestions, might throw in jab-tech as well. Overall newegg is a pretty poor place to get watercooling components. I guess it could be because they don't want to deal with ignorant people buying them, frying their computer, and trying to return all the components back to newegg because they screwed up.


P.S. I'm not a moderator, but the cross forum drama should be kept somewhere else. No need to derail the thread with that crap.
 
My Koolance 4870X2 block developed a crack in the plexiglass and began to leak. It took almost a month for them to replace it. During the time I emailed them 3 times to find out the status since I was hearing nothing and the website status said they were still waiting to receive the block. However they never answered my emails. I ended up having to call them to discover they did receive my block and didn't have a replacement part in the country, so were waiting for one from overseas.

When I finally received the block, I took a look at the plexiglass and the replacement actually had a crack in it as well, but it was smaller and in a different spot. I tested it and it didn't leak. However I don't have much confidence on how long it will last.

Other's people experiences surely vary. But mine pretty much ended any future relationship with Koolance.
