Here's the deal. I'm about fed up with this bullshit. Maybe someone could explain to me WHY with my setup, a very recently formatted hdd and little to no applications and programs installed or running in the background I get times in HL2 that my frames go down into the 30s and 40s, even as low as 20s. I will tell you how I have the game setup. I have nothing overclocked. Vsync is off. Refresh rate of my monitor is 75hz, its an NEC FE770. The game settings are 1024x768, everything at default, except NO AA/AF... NONE, NOTHING. Now, there are times when the frames are very high, usually indoors though. My vid drivers are the 70.41. I also have that studdering problem. I don't know why my frames drop so low, it seems like an anomaly. Please help, please. Also, before I began playing the game, a week or so ago I reformatted my hdd and reinstalled windows, now to make sure I had all the files I took my entire valve folder and moved it to a different hdd and then moved it back after the installation was done. Does anyone think that could attribute to the problem? Thanks

Helping would be easier if you had posted your sys...

Otherwise, it could be the 70.xx beta driver...try 61.xx, the 70.xx has a lousy performance
