Can you post some pics of your customs heat exchanger. And that panel looks kinda huge is it the pic or its really huge?
 
I guess it's the angle. It's a "big" mid-case.
The heat exchanger is not complete, I have 2 low flow water foggers I have to add. I am taking lots of pics and I have several projects going at once so expect a full work log soon.
 
A dremel. I couldn't get to it today for everything I had going but I will finish it pretty quick.

I haven't had any cutoff wheels break on me yet like most complain of, but they definitely don't last long on steel. :(

How much does a descent dremel cost. As well as the nescessary bits.

Decent, well a good kit should run you about 79.99 US to 110.99 US (I am guessing from Canadian Prices).

Get a corded version or case modding. The cordless I hear arnt that great.

It wouldn't surprise me. Generally speaking, all corded tools are preferable to their cordless counterparts for medium to heavy duty work, because they wont die and they can give a Helluva lot more power. When ones cutting steel or conquering the Baltic, power is generally a good thing ;)
 
Nah, what he's doing is cool too. He's already started anyway, no point in scrapping what he's done already.
 
Yea, I think you should definatly keep at what you're doing. It'll look cooler than an applique (imho) and it's alot harder so it must...be...better...? ;)

But seriously, it'll be alot more original, and you can say, "See that? Yea, that was all me, baby. Heh heh, alllriiiight." :cool:
 
This is not an update, just a picture of where I left off working on it the other day. The picture turned out bad so I didn't use it before, but I figured maybe it might help show where it's going. Reducing the file size didn't help either... :( O wellz

You can probably see that it will be attached only at the tips, the center will all be free floating - until I silicone it down that is lol.
Anyway, it should be "different" (btw it's not as rough as it looks, the tape lifting makes it look that way in the pictures. Also - everything is cut 1/16" big and will be sanded to the line.)

Between the weather and taking the little one to find out where the Easter Bunny stashed those damn eggs this weekend, I haven't been able to finish it. I plan to ASAP though.

Be very careful once it's done not to break it off! That would suck to get it done and then have it snap off and there just be this big ugly circle in the middle.. :p

It's gonna rawk if you've got a steady enough hand.

You will notice I have scored the middle, I didn't cut it because I didn't want it hanging unsupported. I have to pick up some acrylic for the res and cooling tower I'm building so after I get all the peices I need measured I'll stick a peice behind the panel and add the other 3 little parts that float out there in the 3 circles.

The blue CCL. It will go along the bottom inside lip. ( The ONLY place it will fit in this case unless you throw it in there sideways... :rolleyes: ) Anyway, the sound sensor I think I'll mount right above my Raptors.

It still has to be sanded - it's still got burs hangin off of it everywhere but I couldn't resist a quick look.

Yes, it will have a piece of plexiglass behind it. The center will be cut out where it is scored. The 3 little pieces that go inside the circles will be siliconed into place so they appear to float. The tips of all 3 circles have a small notch that gets cut out, as I said I held off on cutting it because it will definitely need to be supported once cut loose.

Looks like you should find a metal file and grind those edges nice and smooth, they're a little rough.
