Some of you may recall me having surgery a couple months back, they had found an aneurysm and had dispatched it. Well recently my headaches had started getting worse again, last weekend I was back in the hospital because of one that almost put me and my family off the road. Police insisted (there was an officer right in the vicinity this time when it happened this time) that I go to the hospital, to which I did. While I was there, I had another MRI done, and they found a second bubble forming. I go in for surgery in a couple days to have it removed, which will make the second aneurysm I will have the pleasure of NOT having.

All this ontop of the fact that my WU's will not post when finished (I have finished 10 WU's all of which cannot contact the server to show completetion).

LOVELY!!!!!!!

I hope everything works out for you and the family. Let us know how you are doing when possible.

I hope things work out for you and they get this issue resolved. It isn't easy having to deal with health issues like this, and since this is the second one in a short perid of time I'm wondering if there isn't something else thats contributing to these things happening. Hang in there, and we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

if its anything like the last time, its just a small bald spot on the head, a drill and I dont remember anything else. Good drugs for like a week, and they only kept me in the hospital for an overnight stay to make sure the "wound" was starting to heal properly. I'll probally be out of work for a week, and most likly banned from using a computer, or watching tv, yet again. But im sure I will find a way to break that rule.

The headaches are the only annoying part of the wait. When I had the last surgery I had a nice headache for a couple of days, but the pain medication (Oxy) that they gave me the last time took a large amount of it away, and I was able to use it without becoming addicted to it. Im hoping to have that luck again.

I thought about the whole thing where I have now had two form that there is a possibility of either something wrong with my head in total, other than the insanity. Here's to hoping.

sheesh ..sorry to hear that man .. do they know what's causing these?

Take care of yourself first...the WU and client babysitting takes a backside. :(
Sorry to hear that man...God speed and good luck.

Hope you get better soon. Keep us posted, and let us know when you're feeling better.

Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind answering, what did the hospital tell you about the aneurysms - cause, severity, etc, and what are the chances of another aneurysm appearing, in the brain or elsewhere?

All this ontop of the fact that my WU's will not post when finished (I have finished 10 WU's all of which cannot contact the server to show completetion).
Lol, this is how dedicated we are...you have an aneurysm and one of your main worries is your WUs won't upload...

They told me the cause was unknown but wanted to attribute it to stress and apparently the fact that I have thick blood, something they called hypercoagulability which made me think I was a zombie or something. But last time I had a test done, there was no sign of any thickness of blood cause thats what the doctor was searching for, they were worried I might have Hughes Syndrome, which I dont, thank god!

So they think that might have attributed to it in the first case, but uncertain as to the second. I was actually amazed the doctor had me wait to have this surgery considering the first time they were immediatly prepping me as to this time. But that could be because the doctor felt since it was still developing, I had a little time to prepare this go.

The chances of a person developing an aneurysm after previously having one, is extremely rare. There have been some documented cases of people having up to 2, a few cases of 3, but beyond that, as long as they are detected early, its a easy and relatively pain free thing to have taken care of as long as you get it looked at.

I will stress this as much as possible, if you are having abnormal headaches, dont hesitate to go to the doctor and have an MRI. If not for yourself, for your family. Anything that can be detected early is a sure way to keep yourself alive.

I often wonder about family medical backgrounds, and had checked to see if there are any documented cases of my family having an aneurysm. No one in my family tree has ever had any case or relatives with. My family consists of heart problems (mother side), diabetes (father side), strokes (mother side), severe pneumonia (father side), and the best one of them all, Pancreatic cancer. YAY! more to look forward to!

Freaky,

First, as chronic migraine sufferer (I mean every day), let me tell you I have a good idea of what you're going through..I know this sounds crazy, but I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat, because at least you know what is causing the headaches (if not the aneurysm itself)...

I am 27, and have a 100% disability rating due solely to chronic vestibular migraine..I am working on my 5th year of failed relief efforts..I have seen some of the best neurologists in the eastern half of the country, and everyone is at a loss..I have had MRI after Cat scan etc etc...All the Dr.'s can say is that I have a pretty brain( yea heard this from like 7-8 different docs)...

I have had 4 surgeries in the last year, now have permanent numbness in the back of my head (side effect of 6 nerves being severed) with no relief...

I have had a really hard time because I have an extreme sensitivity to florescent light, and haven't even been able to finish my degree(s)..I couldn't touch a computer for almost a year..if It were not for my new Samsung led monitor, I probably still couldn't..

With that being said, I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery..

I really hope that everything works out for you. You seem very calm and focused. I would be scared shitless. Hell, I am scared of the endoscopy I have to have in a few weeks for GERD. Much respect and the best of luck to you!! I am sure that you will be well.

Aw, don't sweat an endoscopy brother..They are extremely painless, and you won't even remeber having it done..They will take you back to a pre-op room, give you an IV and a drug to relax you and most people don't even remember being wheeled back into the OR..

Both my mother and myself had one done a few years ago, as we both suffer from terrible GERD and take nexium to treat it..

Not to thread hijack, but thanks for the assurance as I have never had to have any procedure, outpatient or other.

Freaky - Keep up the good attitude...it's one of the best things you can do! That and your faith. Stay strong, we're all here for you. Same goes for each of you out there who battle your own personal challenges each day.

How do they remove the aneurysm? We haven't covered cardiorespiratory or nervous yet, that's why I'm so curious...

Wow. Your family seems to have really drawn the short straw...

I couldn't help but laugh at this, in one of our dissections the lecturer was going through dissecting the back and spinal cord in the camera, and we got through the meninges down to the spinal cord, and the lecturer sighed, held it up as if it were made of rubies, and said, "wow, this is beautiful. Don't you think this is the most beautiful thing you ever saw? Guys, give this a round of applause".

Hang in the man. Your a fighter and will be fine, just hope they can pin point whats causing it so you don't develope anymore later on. I know it's rare that people get more than 1, but your on your second now, so your special :). But we knew that anyways :p.

My Dad had severe migraines all his life basically, had his first one at age 21. He was on a bicycle when his first one happened and it was so bad that he went into the ditch.
I remember how his were so bad that he would literally sit here holding his head and crying. He lived in almost total darkness, even had thick curtains on the windows cause the light hurt. The doctors had him on all kinds of pain pills that he was a walking pharmacy. They never was able to find out what caused them. He had to live with them for almost 40 years, with no fix.

Sorry for the thread jacking, just wanted to share.

Stay strong Freaky!!!

From what I remember, I was given an IV to calm me down and really to put me out, but I remember them shaving a section of my hair off. After that I was out. My wife told me they used a drill.... a literal drill and a needle. She wasnt allowed IN the room with me, so she could only watch through a window that they had. So she didnt have alot of detail either. I mean the first one was so immediate that there was no explination, it was get it done kinda thing. This time im sure there will be more detail. So after its done, I will let you know.

Short end of the straw, yeah. Tellz me about it!

As for the chronic migrane issues, sheesh dude. I dont think you would want to trade with me to be honest. I know your life sounds rough, but ive never put in for disability myself, if I did I would probally get it....... Tell you what, if you can put up with my migranes, my severe issues with IBS, yeah figure that one out, and my autism, than by all means! :) Loves all around. I head in later today for the surgery, yay!

good luck man and enjoy the pain killers.. glad to see you dont have the addiction gene either because pain killer addiction is a bitch and half to get rid of..

IF Oxy is used appropately ie the right dose and for pain relief, one doesn't get addicted.
Its only when you use it for a high that you will be addicted.
(From experience)
Good luck with the op too.

Good luck, FrEakY! :) I'm sure things will be fine and this will be the last time you have to go through this.

On the serious note, I hope your surgery went well today, and that you may a speedy recovery..Please let us know how you made out!..

No problems/issues in life are as scary as health issues. Good luck!!

Hello everyone,

My name is Nikki, I am Jared's (FrEaKy's) spouse. Just letting you all know that he had his surgery earlier today (around 4:30 this afternoon). Everything went okay, he is asleep currently but is recovering just fine. Just letting you all know hes good.

Nikki,

Thank you very much for the update. I (and I'm sure others) are very glad to hear about the success of the surgery and I pray for a speedy recovery.

Yeah definitely - thanks for letting us know, Nikki.
Tell him we care about him, hope he gets well soon, and in the meantime we'll keep kickin' EVGA ass while he's 'temporarily not getting work units'. :)

Glad to hear the surgery was successful and I hope he has a quick recovery!

Thank you Nikki for the update. Glad to hear everything went well :).

Thank you for the update Nikki, As much as we like having him around please keep him off of the PC as much as possible as I'm sure it will help speed his recovery :)

I'm glad to hear that there weren't any complications. Surgeries, in general, scare the hell out of me. More so the anesthesia than anything else.

I am back! Not suppost to be on the PC, but eh, I feel pretty good so why not.

Still on a bit of pain medication for now especially at night, my head hurts more when im lying down than when im sitting or standing. I am trying to not do alot of standing or work, but cant help it when I have small things here or there to fix.

All is good so far, I go in for another MRI in 2 weeks to see if theres anything else, so we shall see! ;)

Good to see you back! Now follow the Dr. orders and come back when you're supposed to.

I'll save some wu for you to crunch.
