I have been thinking about it for a while... I've done some SETI@home stuff before... Would my few computers be much help for the team? Is there any benefits or rewards involved? (Not that it's a deciding factor or anything, I was just wondering... I got 2 computers and a laptop that I can use for folding. ones the one in my sig, the other is a athlon xp 2500, and the lappy has a amd turion 64 of some sorts.
 
There are some rewards, although admittedly it's probably not a great reason to start folding :p

All computers are helpful to the team and the project. Points are points for us, and science is science for Stanford, so fold away and you'll be doing some good :D

 
i fold with my one rig in my sig.. Love it. I can still browse the internet and such. No performance lose with my C2D

every little bit helps (well I guess if you've got an old 486 sitting in the garage, that may actually be worthless for this :D). it has almost no impact since it runs itself in the background anyway. Load it up and give it a shot, but a warning it can get addictive!



 
Laptop under my couch is cranking 55 ppd, its going to keep cranking that too. EVERY bit helps.
 
Yeah... three of my machines consistently put out less than 60ppd... but I still run them.
 
After you turn in 500,000 points, you get a year for free. Once you hit 1,000,000 it's two years, and after 1.5 million it's lifetime:)

You are wrong about the 1,000,000 mark. There is nothing in that milestone. Only the 500,000 points give you 1 year of GM. Getting 1,5 millions give you lifetime indeed.

Reward Program page needs updating if that's the case. It does say that the 1 million GenMay bump up to 2 years currently

Otherwise, I can see more confusion :)

Just doubled checked through the thread to be sure there were no addendums on the second page; text-wise, the info seems accurate.
