Until I found out theres actually LESS viewable area AND less pixels then a normal 19 inch...what the heck?

Now I must start all over on researching a 19 inch normal :(

That doesn't make sense to me.

widescreens are still alot better in my opinion. i have a 20.1" and it is awesome becasuse you can put pages side by side for easy viewing, and you have alot more horizontal span which makes sence since you can see farther side to side than you can up to down.

i would stick with wide screen, plus it looks sweet in games that support it.

Widescreen should have never come out for computer monitors, and 1280x1024 (5:4) should have been 1280x960 (4:3). All my opinion of course.

Uhh... what are you comparing a 'normal' 19in monitor to? I'm assuming you mean a 4:3 monitor.

If you are comparing to a 20.1 widescreen monitor(1680x1050 or whatever), then it has more pixels to a 19in 1280x1024 LCD monitor.

I believe there is only one 19in widescreen monitor out in the market? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Tell that to me who enjoys the beautiful expanse of my 2005fpw. It makes working with things much easier, I can't stand 4:3 anymore.

Don't get me wrong. I'll probably get the 2007wfp if it turns out well. But to that end, 4:3 and widescreen ips options are not equal. If a good 21" panel came out using the new ips tech, I'd probably get that.

It's not a huge deal with either grievance, but to me it's a gimmick on computers. There are far too many older 4:3 games people are trying to hack now to take advantage of a screen they sit 2 feet away from. It's not a tv, the spacial advantage of widescreen is less pronounced, and was never really necessary for all the trouble to move to a new "standard."

Sorry if I didn't make much sense, in a rush and I forget to use commas, or periods :)

Anyways, yes i'm comparing a normal 19inch 4:3 to a widescreen 19inch which theres about 10 models that I know of...

It runs at 1440 x 900 res

Why the heck would you buy any monitor with that resolution? Ofcourse there are less pixels on that thing than a standard 19". Now, start comparing 20" and above and the widescreen will have more.

That's pretty stupid logic to use when purchasing a display.

You're basing your decision on the number of pixels you get relative to the length of the diagonal of your screen.

If you're going to use that kind of logic, base your decision on the the number of pixels on the screen relative to the price.
