I just ordered a regular IDE motherboard for my friend's computer and I accidentally picked out a SATA drive to go with it.

I saw an adapter on newegg that looked like it would work but compatibility wasn't guaranteed. Does anyone have any experience with this?

that adapter is so you can use a PATA drive on a SATA port. i don't know if it'll work the other way, but i guess you could always just give it a try.

Nevermind I will just buy a SATA controller card.
