and dont know what im goin to do with it. If i decide to keep it and not sell it off (Dell Dimension 2400) Will the guts fit into a X-Qpack case?

What are the specs? Is it true mATX(9.6" x 9.6")? Anything look non-standard on it? The big questions is if it'd even both worth transferring from that case.

P4 2.4Ghz
1Gig RAM
onboard sound
onboard video
Sony DVD rom
Samsung CDRW
80GB HDD

Im pretty sure it is but ill have to crack it open again to make sure.

I plan on building a SFF in a Qpack case anyway i was just thinkin for the time being thru the stuff in it til i start the new build.

Just checked it and its a 9.6x9.6 should be anyway, hard to measure with it still in the case and everything attached :p

If its got four slots and the i/o bracket is on the left side when the slots are on the bottom (when your facing it from the rear) Its probably mATX

What more is left of it that you'd actually use? Is it DDR memory? Kind of pointless with all new boards requiring DDR2. A plain DVD-ROM & CDRW are very archaic, unless it's only going to be a read only machine, but then you have to think that you can get a DVDRW for around $35, which isn't a whole lot. Next is the 80GB HDD, which is decent for storing extra files and such. But you also have to think that 320GB is under $100. Space & cooling is limited in a SFF case, so you should think if 80GB is really going to be enough.

I think as it stands right now if you got a TV-Out card it'd make a decent media playback computer or just get a monitor for it and use it as an internet terminal. It really depends on what you want to use this computer for. If you just want to build a SFF for the experience, then go ahead. If you want a powerhouse or a gaming SFF then you're probably going to want to start from scratch instead of recycling.

I wasnt goin to use that dell for the SFF build or any of it parts, i was just goin to throw it in the Qpack case for shits and giggles but if the mobo didnt fit then just pickin up a cheap mATX to throw the shit in to. It was just for something to fuck around with being its just sitting here. It wasnt goin to be any "powerhouse" or anything serious for that matter. I got the 15" LCD it came with as well but as it stands rigth now i might have sold the whole thing so who knows :D

Well yeah, it's probably worth more just left in it's case. I imagine it's already in a matx case. For fun sure, but I dunno if I see what the point would have been to move something from an matx case to another matx case. If you've sold it, that's bling you can use towards a decent SFF ;)
