So, as you do, I was looking at the back on my monitor....SOG Switch???

Okay, so I was this SOG swtich thing for the first time.

"ON" and "OFF" choices.

What the heck does it do?

This is required for systems like adapted SGIs, like the one I'm using right now, to run with your monitor.

Most older monitors don't support it unless they're pro. A lot of newer ones do. Many LCDs, too. The 2001fp does. I have one hooked to my Indigo2.

So what exactly does it do?

Does it provide any benifits on the normal machine, that isn't a SGI or anything?
