Acer has been around for a really long time...I remember seeing Acer ps2 compatible computers for sale back in the early 90's. You've never seen or heard of an Acer laptop? They are a bigger presence in Europe and Asia however. I have an Acer F-20 monitor and I really love it..the style, quality and performance are outstanding (even if features are lacking) and I chose to keep it over a Dell 2007WFP I took delivery of yesterday. As far as the model you are looking at I have no idea...the monitor I have is considered the top of the line for non business models and Acer tends to not compete in the professional graphics arena. The low end Acer models don't impress me at all as far as looks/features but I can't speak for the quality.
