You just install windows and drivers and your done? Im just making sure I didnt miss anything. Like something to do with the unbuffered ram or whatnot.
 
You boot it (hopefully it boots), maybe go into the BIOS to turn off any on-board stuff that you aren't using (like maybe video and/or sound), perhaps set the CD-ROM device to boot first, pop a Windows XP CD (or Linux distro), and boot from the CD. You may be prompted at some point to hit a key to boot from a CD.

From there it's pretty straightforward. If you run into any problems, just post it here and we'll help you out.
 
yep your done. if you really want to, run like prime95 and memtest to see if your cpu n mem are okay. its really up to you tho..
 
Okay the only problems i see is crashing. Today firefox crashed. CSS crashed. and fear combat crashed and rebooted my computer. like wtf

Crashing: are you talking crashing back to desktop or like a hard lock (locks up, doesn't do anything). The rebooting sounds like it may be a PSU issue.
 
It doesnt lock up, just certain games. it crashes to the desktop and sometimes it reboots my pc

Do you have all the new drivers for your vid card/sound card/chipset. Also do you have all the patches applied to both windows and those games?
 
okay well how do i check ram timings and what should they be at?

Im actually getting the windows patches now, and all the drivers off the mobos site.
 
You can either download CPU-Z, a nice little program that tells you ram timings, in addition to your CPU stats and the like. Or, you can go into the BIOS and it should be under a menu in there.

Well your ram is overclocked a lot, you could try lowering the divider. You have ddr2-800 and your running it at ddr2-960.
 
I didnt overclock it. It must have overclocked its self. How can I fix this?
 
Well your cpu is overclocked by 400mhz. So just go into the bios and change your cpu frequency to 200.
 
Changing the cpu will change the ram frequency.

You had a 400mhz overclock...that's why you were crashing.
 
Things havent been crashing. Its still at 400 mhz. I dont know how to change it
 
Don't worry about the ram, the ram is fine. 400mhz means 800mhz DDR which is the stock speed for you memory.
 
Maybe because it's the fastest stock speed for the memory.
