SN95G5 only posts on 2nd boot?

Just wanted to see if anyone has had similar problems with the SN95G5. My specs are below.

First off, I have updated to the newest bios. Before and after that, I blue screened frequently until I relaxed my RAM timing to 2-3-3-5.

Now it seems to run fine except for one thing. The first time I boot the machine after having the power unplugged, it doesn't post. The fans run and LEDs come on, but no post and no drop in fan speed (as it normally does after booting windows). If I power it off, and then back on, it works fine. I did some testing and found that the machine never posts with just 1 stick of ram in the 2nd dimm slot. It always posts with just 1 stick of ram in the 1st dimm slot. And fails to post only the first time with 2 sticks of ram in.

This has held true for multiple sets of ram I have tried in it.
Whats wierd is I can turn it off and then boot it fine a day later, as long as the power cord has not been unplugged from the power supply. If at any point the power cord is unplugged, I will have to boot one time with no post, turn off, and then boot again. :confused:

What sucks is I called CensusPC today (whom I purchased the SN95G5 from), and still being within their 30 day warranty period, they said all I can do is send it to them and wait for them to send it to shuttle for repair before they send it back to me. They won't just do an exchange without charging me a 15% restocking fee, regardless of the fact that it had a problem to begin with. :mad:

So, if anyone knows of something that I'm missing where I wouldn't need to send it off I would appreciate your help. Thanks.
 
I think this problem would be best posted on the SFFTech forums. Those guys are the Shuttle Gods and have seen alot of problems like this on the SN95Gs.
 
I've got the same shuttle model as you. I don't have hte issue. Some have it some don't. Rev. 2.0 is not supposed to have the issue. I don't think there is a fix for the 1.0 models. Try updating your bios.
