Hello,

I'm having some trouble with a SN41G2 (Black) V1 build. First, here are my specs:

AMD Athlon XP 1700+ (Thoroughbred)
Shuttle SN41G2 (Black) V1 (FN41 V2.0 motherboard)
2 x 512MB OCZ PC3200 Value Series (CAS 2.5)

That's all that I've got in there right now (took out my HDD, DVD+/-RW and videocard)

Here's my problem:

The system will power up and subsequently shutdown itself several seconds later (nonethelss, I was once able to POST and get to the BIOS). Upon shutting down the red "CPU Overheat LED" will come on and remain on until I pull the power plug from the rear. Without the shim, the system will stay on, however, it will not post.

I've tried plugging the ICE exhaust fan into FAN 3 (which is where it shown to be plugged in the installation manual) as well as FAN 1 (which is designated as the 'CPU Fan' in the included motherboard manual)

Can anyone please help me get this guy to work normally?

Thanks

To me, it kinda sounds like the CPU is gone/going, forsure if the removal of a shim is altering behavior. Could be briding some of the jumpers (guess), or simply the core is already fubared.

I was once able to POST
... really sounds like its toast.

sorry x.x;
