hello all,

new to the forums here.

been wanting to build a new system to game on and decided to go with a SFF machine.

i have a friend that has the SN95G5 and he loves it so i decided to go down the shuttle road as well and it looks like the SN25P has all that i want / need.

i mainly play World of Warcraft so im sure this system will be awesome for that.

as it looks right now here are the specs for the machine along with some questions:

Proc: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1GHz FSB Socket 939
Video: eVGA 256-P2-N517-AX Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
RAM: Mushkin High-Performance 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)
HD: Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500JS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s

questions:

Video: will that card fit?
RAM: my friend with the shuttle had so many problems with RAM at first until he bought his Mushkin ram which worked perfectly. is that the best RAM to get?

i realize there are many places i could beef up the specs for a higher performance build, but for what im looking for i dont see anywhere i can up the specs without a signifigant price increase. however, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
I own an eVGA 7800GT, and it fits easily without the CPU fan shroud on (which has minimal impact on thermal performance). Using the proper installation procedure, you can fit it with the shroud as well, but I didn't bother.
 
can you buy your own power supply for your shuttle case? i wanna get a 7800, but i checked out the power supply the shuttle comes with and its only 350w.
 
The Shuttle's "350w" PSU is much, much stronger than general ones. It works great, and is overclocked pretty nicely with my X2 3800+ @ 2.4ghz/core for safe everyday use, 2gb RAM, 7800GT @ 486(core)/1160(RAM) setup, with a complement of a 300GB Maxtor MaxLine III SATA NCQ HDD and NEC DVD burner. I plan on adding a PCI-E x1 TV Tuner (from Powercolor) soon, and will be hooking a floppy into it as well. No worries whatsoever. You can't fit a normal PSU into the shuttle due to the wiring and sizing physically of the units.
 
I'm running 300gig and a 500 gig Seagate hard drives, 2 gigs of OCZ platinum ram, a BFG 7800GTX nicely overclocked and an X2 4400 CPU again nicely overclocked with no power issues what so ever.
 
does anyone know if the:

GIGABYTE GV-NX78T256D-ZK Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16

card will fit since it has the Zalman cooler?

im thinking of grabbing that one over the eVga one after some of the stellar reviews ive read about the Gigabyte one.

or should i just stick with the eVga one?
