SN25P Overclocking

I've had one of these for a while but I've not had to go over 250 HTT, which the latest BIOS seems to limit the system to.

I'm building another and the Opty 165 is able to go well over 250. I just downloaded XPC Tools and if I open and close it the program will show anywhere from 112 to 305 HTT (fsb). It seems like CnQ is kicking on and off.

1. In the regular ol' BIOS is there a way to get the fsb over 250? Mine shows one mhz increments up to 250.

2. What is the BIOS setting to check if CnQ is enabled?

3. How does one overclock in XPC Tools? There are + and - buttons next to the fsb reading but they are greyed out. (Do I need to put the BIOS back to stock before XPC Tools will let me play?)

Thanks!

I don't think you can use XPC tools to OC the SN25P model. I think you should lower your RAM ration and up your voltage for the CPU through the BIOS. I hit 280 FSB with 3x HTT and the ram at 166 on a Opty 165.

I have an Opty 165 (0551)in this system I'm trying to overclock past 250. I have it at 3x HTT, RAM at 166, and the bus only shows up to 250. This is all through the BIOS, which is the Y bios. From Windows I can reach 2615mhz using Clockgen with 290 fsb and ram at 237 (166).

Does your FSB go from 200 to 300 (or higher?) in one mhz increments?

Thanks to you and your link to the y bios, I am now running 300fsb x 8 = 2.4Ghz.

Thanks!

Too bad the OP has not fixed his problem yet. ;)
