Whenever I have hardware acceleration for audio turned on in BF2 the voice commands stutter horribly and are real slow like they're speaking in slow motion. Not the VOIP, but the in game radio commands. When I turn it to software, it works perfectly. I thought the envy24 in the sn25p did hardware acceleration. Anyone know the problem? I'm using the latest drivers from shuttle's site.

sn25p hardware audio problem in BF2?

Unfortuanately you are out of luck with the SN25P Envy24 and BF2 - the best you can get is Software audio and stereo output. Hardware only works with Audigy2 ZS and X-Fi as far as I know.
I sold my perfectly running and excellent performing SN25P for this very reason - I found that the SB83G5 and SN95G5 V3 work great with BF2 and I can use my Audigy2 ZS and X-Fi cards for true 5.1 surround goodness in BF2! Once you hear the excellent positional audio and environment sounds you will be amazed - well worth the swicth for me!
FYI - I also tried the Creative Audigy2 NX USB exterenal solutionwith my SN25P and it only worked with Software and stereo as well....

I don't understand what you mean by "true" 5.1... I have a set of Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1s and I moved from a desktop to my SN25P and notice no difference in 5.1 quality. Just as "true" as before.
I didn't have any issues with my previous games and the SN25P Envy audio (FarCry, HL2, CS:S). They did seem to work well with 5.1 speaker surround. BF2 is the only game that did not support true 5.1 surround.
When I say True 5.1 surround I am referring to positional audio capabilities with Battlefield 2 when using hardware audio and EAX effects with an Audigy 2 ZS sound card specifically.
Believe me - when you hear the difference this makes in your gaming experience! I was blown away from the effects and being able to tell exactly where enemies are at. For example when a tank is approaching from the rear and to the side the appropriate rear speaker is active.

After loading the Envy24 Audio drivers the default settings in the Vinyl control panel enable "Stereo Expander", which basically clones the front speakers to the rear.
With this setting enabled you will not get positional audio between the front and rear channels in Battlefield 2.
