SN25P Bios Questions

Anyone here familiar with the BIOS settings in the SN25P, and that is in terms of frequency/voltage controls? For the Vid Card and Processor and such?

My problem is, my comp shuts down mid game. Running an X850XT, AMD 3700+, 1gig Crucial Value Ram

So, what exactly is it you want to know about the BIOS of the SN25P? I mean, its only your title after all.

Its always a good idea to provide as much information as you can when asking for help. If you don't know what information to provide, err, well... it might be time to actually seek (and pay for) professional help.

Seriously though, for example... is power connected to the aux input on the X850XT? Are all other settings set to defaults or auto? If not, what are they vs what the component requires? Overclocking? Does your computer actually shut down? Or does it crash? If it shuts down, its probably thermal protection turned on or something. Anyway, you get the idea. Need more info.

Everything in the Bios is set to default.
I am wondering, if this is an overheating issue? Bios Issue?
MY comp just shuts down randomly mid game.
All auxiliary power is connected to the x850xt. I followed directions to a T.

What gives? :(
 
Hmm, never noticed before, but I actually don't see any thermal protection shutdown settings in the BIOS. Wow, okay... that's weird. So, you actually see the a windows is shutting down message? Can you describe what exactly happens?

Could still be an overheating issue, have you gone into the BIOS and looked at system health for temps right after it shuts down?
 
The dilemma:
Mid game (doesn't matter what game, ex = WoW, CS:S, HL2, anything) and the box shuts down, and the monitor stays on. But is just a black screen.
 
So, completely off then? Maybe a PSU issue under heavy load? Have the latest BIOS?
 
Your problem sounds very similar to this guy on this thread, maybe keep tabs here as well and hopefully the problem will be solved.

Ok.. well my guess is that you have maybe a faulty power supply? Or maybe some software incompatibility issue (reinstall graphic drivers)? I'll try to think of more thing that might cause this but if you can tell a little more than just "freeze during mid-game" for example.. does it ever freeze any other time when your system is full load? Or... does it freeze when you are doing something else graphic intensive (watching movie)?

Forget the BIOS settings for a minute.

Did you run memtest86 to check your memory first ?
Do that before messing with BIOS settings.

Next, run the prime95 torture test for 8 hours. If it passes
then start looking at drivers and OS install.

Do a goggle search or forumn search for these programs/

Did you enable cool N' quiet for the CPU ?

Look at the BIOS settings LAST...you need to test your system for stability FIRST.
 
Yes I have run Memtest for this rig.
I will run the Prime95 test today.
Cool N Quiet I is the default option, so yes that is enabled.
I just want to get this resolved.

Aldoria: Yes that is me. :) System doesn't shut down any other time except when in game.
 
You might want to run rivatuner in the background as you play, it I think you can set it up to record a running log? There should be something out there that will keep a running record of your temps and voltages as reported (knowing that bios voltages are never all that accurate) at least if there is a spike or dip it might get recorded. Just a thought.
