I'm running Linux (Debian Etch) on an SN25P. Sound output to both speakers (plugged into the rear L/R jack) and headphones (plugged into the front headphone jack) works fine. But I can't get sound input to work. I have a microphone plugged into the from microphone jack. And I've tried echo123 with skype and brec but neither get any sound input. I know the microphone works because we use it on other machines. I've tried both xmixer and alsamixer to adjust the audio inputs. But I don't know what most of the mixer setting do.

Does anybody know what setting I need to give to either xmixer or alsamixer to get sound input to work?

Thanks in advance,
Jeff (qobi@purdue.edu)
