sn25p 4.1 audio problem...

Just got my sn25p setup and I've noticed a problem with the audio. It seems that the output to the right rear speaker is messed up. In the via audio control panel I have it set to 2+2 with stereo expander like it says to do, but when I play an mp3 there is little to no output at the right rear speaker. I've swapped speakers and it still does it, so that's not a problem. I am led to believe it is a hardware problem though because if I look at the playback tab where it shows the output levels of each channel, the right rear speaker is significantly lower than the others, even though the volume is the same. I've tried both the drivers on the included disk and the latest for download on via's site. Anything I'm missing? Am I going to have to rma?
 
hmm...more strangeness. Just playing around with stuff and if I put it on 5.1 and just mute the center and subwoofer since I have nothing plugged in there, all the channels play fine.
 
Yea that was the single most annoying thing about my sn25p build. I have 5.1 sound I had to set it to 8.1 surround to get stuff going right go figure. :-p
 
So you have a similar problem? What exactly was your problem?
 
no idea what fixed mine. Mine was the front left speaker. I just kept playing with the settings, reloaded the drivers, played with the setting some more, and its all normal now.
 
arg, I hate problems like this with no apparent cause. I guess I'll go format and reinstall. Are you using the included drivers that came on the cd?
 
this sucks, I thought flashing the bios might fix the problem, so I flash the latest from shuttle's website, reboot, and now it won't post. No video, no beeps, doesn't seem like it's doing anything. I've tried the clear cmos button, the jumper, even pulling the battery, the thing won't boot now.
