Will the PSU power it?

I will have only one standard 7200RPM and maybe one 5400 if it will power it, along with a DVD burner, Opty 146 or 148 and 1Gb RAM. I may throw an Audigy 2zs in or an X-Fi in with it. I will mod the side panel so that the 8800GTS's cooler will have room.

If the PSU is inadequate, where can I get a higher-end shuttle PSU?

300 watt PSU from Shuttle is bigest model that will fit in G5 chassis and still then not in every G5 chassis without moding.

I have had 7900GT in SN95G5 with stock 240 watt with 4200+ two HDD's and DVDR and many external deivces. It was getting hot and was loud with stock cooling. I've ended up with cuting out a huge window and installing a Vf700cu on it.

Then I've sold it and went for SN25P wich cooled 7900GT with no problems whats so ever.
Then I've got a 8800GTS.

8800 GTS is even to much for a P chassis and asks for some serious moding. 350 PSU though can handle it and new 400 watt does it easy.

In Your case I do not belive it is going to work.
GTS eat's much more power then 7900GT it's massive to. It makes so much heat and G5 series have only single fan to cool it all. Even if it would fit and work with 300 watt powersupply it would short out dramaticly to all components.

Well now my GTS is build in mid tower.

I'm not concerned about heat, simply power. Maybe I should get a tower...

Will I be able to mod one of the 350 or 400w PSUs to fit?
EDIT: nvm, it wont fit. maybe a 1U psu? the interface looks similar enough...

Thanks again.

I think this 1U PSU will work great, with a bit of modding. Cooling won't be too much of a problem, I can always mod in blowholes or something. Here is the manufacturer's link: http://www.coolmaxusa.com/productDe...&details=features&subcategory=1U&category=ipc It is the 500w one. 28A on the +12v rail should be fine for the 8800GTX, let alone the GTS. Here is a link to a cheap one, anyone heard of this retailler before?

Well, does it work? On paper it looks like, but in reality, the only way to know is to try it out.
