SMP vs GPU...confused

So I'm looking at getting into folding. Based on my main pc specs from my sig, what would be better, the GPU client or the SMP CPU client? What about my HTPC?

Also, can both of them run in screensaver style mode like the PS3 version?

I would run both the clients at the same time on your main PC. You could do the same on teh HTPC.
 
I am not very good with the AMD processors, but I think this is correct, you would be able to run SMP and GPU on both computers.

I am not sure what you mean by screen saver mode though. There is not a similar function for either of the SMP nor GPU that I know of. GPU has a visualizer, that last I heard did not work correctly and would ruin the work unit (still a new client) and SMP lacks visualization completely.

heh well that's pretty boring then. At least electric sheep gave me something to look at while it worked. Oh well I guess I'll play around with both clients this weekend.
 
Visualize for GPU is not the same as PS3 screensaver. Buggy and potentially troublesome. Save the effort and set up a nice screensaver/slideshow if really desired.

Personally, I don't bother with a screensaver since I manually turn off the monitor when I'm away form the PC's.
