SMP Time/Date problem?

Ok, so it's 4:41pm Central time, on April 22 2007. I just got the following message in the SMP client...and I checked, my system date/time are correct.

I don't think anyone else has had this problem, atleast around the [H]ard neck of the woods. Hopefully the problem you are having get's fixed

I just got the SMP client working today. First glance, it seems a lot more hands-on compared to the regular client. I don't understand why it requires the Windows password to install - weird...

As far as your problem is concerned, it must be a bug. It took several tries before I was able to get a WU that started fine on my system. Looks like the client needs a little more tweaking to get it right.

The log file's opening is correct...the deadline is not.

I've got the same issue. The time / date is screwed up, but the computer has the correct time.

In fact, even the log file's opening is wrong on my desktop. I have not seen the message about your "deadline" have passed.

My lap top is doing the same thing on the WIN SMP.

Poca, perhaps this will slow you down while a good bit of boxen is having trouble so I can get a jump and pass you sooner

That's normal. The client uses GMT which is why your log times don't match the time shown on your computer's clock (unless you have your time zone set to GMT). If, for example, you start your folding client up at 8 PM on 4/23/07, the log file will show the log opening at 02:00:00 on 4/24/07 if you are in a time zone that is -6 hours from GMT.

it needs your windows password becuase the application is launching the 4 cores as services, and it needs a user/password with enough privilages to launch a service...

i also looked into it before putting my password into it...

i have the same problem on one of my boxen and its a recurring problem. looking at my update points i think i still got the points once it finally finished even though the client said it was past deadline.

Yes, it's the mpiexec service. When I had first posted my curiosity about the password, I hadn't known/seen this service installed.
