do i still need to do the drop in with the new client. im guessing no but just wanna be sure.

I'm guessing you are asking this for -bigadv? Then no. The most recent 6.29 client is the latest and greatest, there are no special versions at this time for -bigadv or SMP2.. it is all encompassing.
