Since my SMP client has trouble removing already finished work units, what's the safest way to remove the stray files?

Is it possible that the SMP client would redo the same work unit if the files aren't cleaned out? Is there a way I can make sure it's not redoing the same work unit (a history or log of some sort)?
 
Easiest way to clean out the folders I think is to set the program to stop folding after the current unit. Verify that it did send the unit through the log file. Then delete all the contents from the work folder.

Is it taking up a bunch of space or just concerned on clutter?
 
I'm worried that the client may be redoing finished work units because it couldn't download one from the server.

I usually receive alot more status info when receiving a new work unit.
 
My Windows SMP install complains about not being able to delete work files all the time.

The best way to make sure that it is a different WU is to compare the run/clone/gen numbers.

Do you have the -verbosity 9 flag set?

Good point to set that flag on it. You will get more information in your fah log when you do that.
 
Just look in the FAHlog for the line "Working on Unit 0X", where the X can be 0-9.
Now look in the FAH work folder.
All the files should be the same number X, bar the log files, the core file & the current file.

My line reads .........
Working on Unit 02 [September 10 17:19:17]
So my files are .......
core78.sta.
current.xyz.
logfile_00.txt to logfile_09.txt.
And 18 files numbered _02.

I've got 10 logfiles as I've done over ten Work Units on this client.
Any files with odd numbers are left over for the pervious Work Units.
The only ones I find are the unsendable results file which are created after a b7 error.
