ok, so I bought a new mobo here to make my own mini folding farm (ok, more like 3 GPU's and a quad, but its all I got lol) and I'm running win7 64bit on it. Ive got 10k PPD from a 88GTX and a pair of 96 GSO's and I want to get some points from SMP, but cant seem to get either to install (ive fone them before so I know what Im doing)

Ill post more later but I just wanted to know if there is any known issues with 7 and SMP boxes

also, think I should go 4 vm;s on this box?

2? I thought the other threads said 4? O well, I have no clue where to start so 2 sounds better than 4 lol

Hopefully I can get 7 up on my other box and I can get folding my last 9600 and a P4 , hopefully I can crack 20k PPD because I'm damn near out of money, BUT IM SO ADDICTED!!

The one VM per core was a complete and utter flop :D

1 VM per 2 cores is optimal. I just finished my WCG WUs and fired up 4 more VMs. With notfred's it took me all of 15 minutes to get all 4 up and running via VMWare Player.

Not ot be noobish, but is there a guide for the notfred's your talking about? If its in the other thread, just say so and I'll go get it, but I thought that was something else

also, on win 7 note, anyone know an OC program that is 7 compatable thats let me OC the shaders? Ive been using ntune on vista, but now on 7 it only lets me use core/mem for my first card

I'm not sure if there is a guide per se. I've been meaning to write a guide. I'll see if I can make the time tomorrow. Today is Easter Egg hunting day with nieces and nephews. You may be able to get the jist of doing it from some of the threads I've posted in of late. I've been busy with the VMs as I've fired up 12 in the last couple of weeks for an increase of between 20-25K PpD (this is over 3 Quads & a Core i7)

If you have any eVGA products, you can download eVGA Precision 1.6.1 (latest revision). I use it on all of my GPUs (but all of mine are eVGA). It is I believe (can't confirm directly as I'm running Vista x64 & WinXP Pro x64) Win7 compliant. There is a specific forum for it.

rivatuner

also, anything that works on vista will work on windows 7 minus some drivers.. windows 7 is vista 1.0 where vista was version .25 lol so everything works on both OS's..

hmm, I'll have to retry ntune, because it was fine on vista, if not, riva it is!
