i have read that the smp client is supposed to take idle cpu cycles and that i should be able to leave it on when running a game, but for some reason any game i turn on while running the smp client will be laggy as hell. the games i play are mw2, bioshock 2, metro2033, mass effect 2. is there something in the settings that needs to be changed?

also i just installed the gpu3 client for my new 460 and its running great. i have not tried to run a game since i started running the client about 30 mins ago, but do i need to turn it off or pause it when i decide to run a game or will its priority automatically be lowered and it not affect my gaming performance?

Just shut down the SMP client when you want to play a game, and start it back up when you're done. There's really nothing else that you can do. As for the GPU client, you should also pause it while gaming.

the gpu client you need to pause/close when gaming.. the smp client it all depends on the game and how much cpu it needs.. you can either shut it down like zero said or you can go into the task manager and just limit it to 2 or 3 cores depending on what processor you have and play your games.. then after you finish re-enable the other cores for the smp client.. ive only have a few games where the smp clients effected my games.. mostly cpu hog games, like supreme commander, crysis, and BFBC2..

mw2 should not be an issue, just pause your gpu client. I haven't tried the others with it though since I was not folding when I played those games..

Ctrl C the SMP client if it causes real problems though.. while folding is great don't let it detract you from using your rig... we don't want folding to alienate us :)
