Smartdoctor/afterburner voltage problem EAH6850

Hello,

few months ago i was an owner of a HD4890pro card, which had really good performance (like newest call of duty gave me stable 75fps) but the problem with that card was that i got alot of bluescreens. ATIKMDAG.sys) so i returned the card, but it was EOL, so they gave me a EAH6850 v2 DirectCU WITH voltage tweak!.

Since i dont know a whooole lot about everything computer related, im the plug-in and play kinda guy. So ofcourse the first thing i did was to startup call of duty, hmm it gave me less fps than the older card.... So i was dissapointed and kinda irritated, so i would just voltage tweak the fucker with smartdoctor, and this was the beginning of a long and frustrating journey \o/

I could easily change GPU and DDR bars (or w/e theyre called) i could also drag the vcore voltage but when i applied the settings, it keeps telling me that the vcore had been adjusted with the number, that i raised it with, thus it kept me at default voltage.....

After reading some fora some ppl were in exctasy with afterburner, so i installed that program, and the vcore bar was locked, but there was a way to unlock it by changing "unlockvoltage =1" in some file, so i did that and saved , but still the bar was locked.

SO how can i change my vcore voltage:((((((((((( hate it when games run crap!

you need to go into the config file in afterburner and set UnofficialOverclockingMode to either 1 or 2, 1 allows powerplay (power saving feature but could have issues with overclocking) or 2(disabled powerplay). by default it should be set to 0 which disables overclocking.
 
Problem fixed! On asus forum someone said to download smartdoctor from the EAH6790 and now it works:)
 
It's weird that CoD was slower than the 4890 because the 6850 is 20% faster across the board. Perhaps the game detected your DirectX 11 card and enabled the extra eye candy effects the 4890 couldn't do and that's why you see a drop in framerates.
