After using the SMART to check my Seagate 7200.8 250GB HD, the online analysis flagged the Power On Hours Count of 92 as being below average of 94-100.

Another drive has a warning for Hardware ECC Recovered of 59 being below the average limits (61-100).

Should I be worried about these drives or is this not a big thing? Funny thing is that both are Seagates.
 
SMART is nice when it works, however some 3rd party utilities can misreport SMART counters.

Run the manufactuers diagnostic utility. If it says nothing is wrong, I would be more inclined to trust it than 3rd party utility.


Would this online analysis happen to be the one built into the program called Speedfan? Because it says my WD Raptor's PowerOn hours count is above average indicating my hard drive is old (1 year). WD utilities say its fine though.
 
Oh yeah it was SpeedFan and the online analysis that flagged both those problems with my Seagate drives. Thanks for the tip, going to run the Seagate diagnostics and see what the real deal is.
