I don't expect to get anything like SATA but can anyone assist me with finding the smallest/thinnest ide cables available?

thanks

I think the thinest ide cables i have seen are from shuttles or sffs. They just take a flat ribbon cable and do some origami shit and presto all thin. The ones on my iwill sff are that way too. I`ll try to post some pics of it later to see how they fold it if you want me to.

I'm looking for the same thing. Standard rounded ide cables are too bulky. I might end up going with a good old ribbon and doign some creative folding. I'll keep an eye out, and if I find anything, I'll let you know.

You could just cut a typical IDE Ribbon and fold it and tape it, I could test the idea myself since I have 1 extra lying around.

Done it. I made a "rounded" cable out of a flat cable. I don't think that's what he wants though. That doesn't really make a cable that's thinner than anything else.

Some Dell small formfactor machines have ultrathin IDE cables for the CD rom. They are about ½ inch wide and just over 1mm thick made from that hard white plastic ribbon used in laptops.

I want long ones, like super long (26+inches), but can't find any. I can't even find 18+inch ones.

The ones I have found, the connectors at the ends don't face the same way, you have to flip them around to get them to face the same way. I don't like that.

well at the place i useto work we came accross one that was it a server, it was taller then me and im about 6F 2
that would be a good cable to use
