Smaller case suggestions?

I shouldn't have made that post that long in hindsight.

Reverse motherboard would have been a bonus, not mandatory.

The component selection was basically a maximum and that I don't require watercooling support.

Mainly seeing whats available with positive pressure and integrated filters with a low noise focus.

I'm actually not to sure how to answer that sticky as I'm really looking for a few build. I'm only looking for cases to look at it at the moment.

Sounds like you like everything about your Define but want smaller - have you looked at the Define Mini?

If you're even considering mITX, I cannot say enough good things about the Corsair 250D.

I run mine with all positive intake fans and exhaust just get's pumped out the back. Both side and the front intakes are filtered and easily removed for cleaning (sides are magnetic). 3x 3.5" bays that accept 2.5" drives.

Very clean, subtle brushed finish front with textured black sides and back.

I would give it a look. Linus has an unboxing and overview if you want a closer look.

The main case forum section feels pretty dead. Subforums there are still active though.

Fractal Define R3 - ~47L
NZXT S340 - 36L

Hits pretty much all your criteria and remains within ATX. Be careful on the maximum cpu cooler height though. In terms of overall volume, it's smaller than the Fractal Define Mini.

If you are adamant about sticking with 3.5" drives, this case may be a deal breaker. Their implementation is rather lacking, though workable.

Yes, was one of the first options I looked at an a consideration.

However from what I understand it is quite a large SFF case. Also rather old at this point and would like an updated version.

Thanks will look into that one in more detail. Looks interesting at first glance though.

I came to realize I didn't really make use of the ATX form factor. The only addon card I use besides a single video card is a sound card but that is really only for noise isolation issues which I can work around via other options. Don't use all 4 DIMM slots either.

Otherwise I've just been shoving in HDDs to make use of the space. I'm trying to move down to less drives but it'll have to come down to SSD pricing/availability at suitable sizes at the end when I do a next build. Trying to move actual storage external (for redundancy reasons as well).

I'm trying to cut back on drives but I'm not sure if I can fully ditch a 3.5" inch drive at this point. I'll need to explore some options in that area.

I'll look into that case though.

The Phanteks Enthoo Evolv is a mATX case that might do it for you, still 41 liters though so its smaller but not small
