small profile videocards?

The card's performance will be based on its GPU and memory type, speed, and amount. Just because it is smaller doesn't mean it will perform worse than a larger card with the same specs. If they reduce the specifications of the card to make it smaller, that is a different story. If you want to compare cards, check out GPU Review:

That being said, a 1.7ghz P4 and a 9600 will struggle badly with BF2 - it is a very demanding game and those parts just barely meet the minimum requirements.

I run BF2 on lowest settings perfectly smoothly (no noticeable drops in framerate) on a 9600 Pro, but this is with the specs in my sig supporting the card.

I really don't think it'd be that playable with a 9600 SE.

ROFL that has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

The smaller videocards to fit into a MiniATX case are they any decrease in proformance for being smaller than the bigger versions?

is it possible to still run battlefield 2 on this with 1.7 gig p4 1gigram ?

what case do you have?

the full height 9600pro (a lot better then the se.. not that it means much..) comes with 128bit vs 64bit memory and is only $11 more..

An unfortunate reality with low profile circuit boards is that they don't have room for the traces and chips required to link a GPU with RAM over a 128-bit bus, limiting their RAM bandwidth to an extremely narrow 64-bit bus :(

I am not aware of a low profile card with a bus wider than 64-bit, performance will be quite limited as a result :(
