Small problem with 226BW after upgrade - help

I just upgraded from a 19" CRT to the Samsung 226BW. I also had to upgrade my video card to the VisionTek Radeon X1050. For the most part, after playing with all the buttons and knobs, I am very happy with my new toys. However, I have one small problem for which I am hoping that someone can provide some guidance.

I am working on a website http://www.dpforsyth.com/index.html that has a black background. At very low resolutions the entire background is black. However, at higher resolutions the lower part of the website has, not sure of the terminology, what I would call a gradient effect. Ironically, this is the only website that I am able to find this type of occurrence on?

I would appreciate it if you would check out the website and give me some clues as to what is going on?

That's because the site has a gradient background below the pictures, and the browser window at lower resolutions is probably not large enough to show that part.

It is my site and I didn't think that the background was gradient but I am doing the site off of a modified template and so I will have to look at the code in more detail.

If it wasn't hard coded in could it be something else?

Part of me wants it to be a code thing because the 226BW is top value for the money.

On the 226BW's I tried, the lower half of the screen would generally appear lighter than the top half. It was almost always hard to notice, but it would show up clear as day in some situations (this forum was one of them). I just opened up the site and it looks like solid black background to me...
 
I see it here, too, 19" viewsonic. it's a "problem" with the site, not your hardware :)
 
What a lark. Snafued by my own website.

Well now I can confidently dig through the code to determine where the gradient element is being applied to the background and modify it.
