i have an old sony pocket tv that has an lcd screen. would it be worth gutting to mod into a case? i think its like a 2" screen

well thats up to u

2" is very small. Maybe you could use it for winamp vis...thats about it...or TV out from a tv tuner card lol...or you could send it to me ;)

Well, being that small it wont be able to handle a very high solution and it will require some heavy modding to find a place for it in your case. I used a PSone screen, the 5.6inch model and mounted it in the floppy drive spaces in my lian li. And even with that size, the 860 x 640 still doesnt look that glamorous.

How do you mod a PSone LCD to be able to interact with your PC? I want to do something like that, but I have NO clue how.

i bought a psone screen but never used it for anything.., yet.. but my vidcard has a Composite out.. AND.. the psone has a Composite in.. soooo its basically easy that way.. as for the alternative which would be to solder wires to the circuitboard and connect it to vga.. i wouldnt know where to start either :p

TechX, What video card is it you have?
Where is this Composite IN located? On the back of the card?

Format_C: How would I make it into an animated badge? What could I plug into it? If anything I can just install a PS one into my PC.. But that's just plain dumb, IMO.
However, I would like it for a Winamp Visualization. Those little trippy videos, that would be nice.
Let's say I want to do that, how would I? Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I love you all so much :-P

I have the MSI Geforce4 4600 TI VIVO.. the vivo part is video in video out it has this adaper on the back of the card that you plug in and it gives you s-vid in/out and composite in/out

Is that thing actually usable as a small monitor or is it there just for the Bling factor?

bling :( nah I mean as for text you can't read anything really as you can see from the picture.. Unless you increased the font size considerably.. I'm thinking about routing my tv tuner through it to watch tv, but not sure if I'll be able to do that

i just did nearly the same thing you wanted to do. It was tricky but it works. I have the LCD hooked up to a VCR then i have my PC connected to the VCR. If I want to use the LCD as a monitor i can use the input on the VCR or if I wanna watch TV i can do that too. Its pretty sweet.

Chances are it doesn't have any inputs (composite or anything else) so the external circuitry involved to get it to work would make it completely not worth it.
