SMALL Gaming Mousepad?

All -

I know its been debated to death what gaming mousepad is good and I understand it is based on user preference most if not all of the time.

But I'd like to throw in my own requirement - a "smaller" gaming mousepad. Does such thing exist?

I'm currently using an MX500/MX700 with a Ratpadz GS, and the surface is starting too smooth out in the middle. Additionally, I find that its size is too large for my needs.

ANy recommendations?

If you really wanted to, you could go ghetto style and cut out a piece of cardboard to serve as a mousepad.

I was using a Vantec Spectrum mousepad for over a year, and with my old no name optical mouse it was fine. Now that I have my MX510, however, it was a little too small. The spectrum has the added effect of having a light blue cathode that lights it up, if you're into LEDs and such.

Can you get stupider advice

Me to I don´t see why gamers demands bigger and bigger mousepads I have a corepad which ain´t the largest I use like 1/10th of it´s surface lol.

But seem like the better quality of the mouse pads the larger they get in size for those low sensitivity gamers I guess.

The smallest seem to be those cheap default cloth pads which aren´t good for anything.

I hope that wasn't directed at me....

3M Precision Mousing Surface

Spray it down with Armor All once a month. Best/smoothest mouse pad ever :)

I still use the mousepad I got with Max Payne. :D It works great with my mx510.

I would get a nice mousepad but I don't need something the size of my comfortor on my desk. I can't see how people have trouble with the mouse falling off the mat. Most people must have the mouse sensitivity turned waaaay down in games I guess.

Looks like you want Smaller Size and Performance. Someone up there was right that usually the "higher performance" pads are big. I'd just go to BB/OfficeMax or wherever and look at their pads. Find one that's about the right size and go with it. Surface type for that type of mouse will give you the responce difference of what 5-10%. The size of my ratz is my complaint with it too, but it's strange how the middle starts to get smooth, a buddy of mine's is doing that and mine isn't and from what I know about our schedules I'm probably on mine more.

It probably has something to do with hand oils or what not. Good luck on your hunt!

I believe there are small sizes of the DKT Pad available. Try everglide.com or search it up on google.

Icemat 1 is pretty small. If you want small but good + cheap then just buy a teflon non-stick fry pan and some non-slip underlay and go to town with an angle grinder.

ratspad blows ive gone through 2 of them and ive decided they are not as high quality of other pads and wear out TOO quickly which makes the surface too reflective and makes my mouse lose tracking

get a func surface 1030 smaller and smoother

THanks for all the great input.

Is the Func 1030 smaller than the ratpadz? I was looking at some reviews on it and its been rated quite well and its bout $20.

I was also looking at the Icemat pads (both gen 1 & 2) and they look awesome but I'm not sure how good are they with opticals, they look quite large, and they cost a grip (~$35-50)!!
Can anyone comment on their use of Icemats?

It doesn't look like it will suffer from "smoothing" out of the surface since it is glass...

Func 1030 is quite big.

I have the corepad which many people complained was to small (thus they have a magna now) but it was more than enough for me and really not smaller than standard cloth pads.
