Hello,
Looking to build a SFF gaming PC to add to my home theater. Eventually this will be tucked away in a component closet with the rest of my HT gear. Right now I really like the Silverstone FT03, but I also have been looking at HTPC style cases like the Lian Li PC-C50.
My goal is something that will play BF3 and Diablo 3 at max on 1080p.
I was thinking
Case - $160
i5-2500k - $220
8GB Ram - $60
Platter Drive (might upgrade to SSD later) - $70
650w ish PSU - $100
GTX 580 (wait for ATI 7000?) - $475
Mobo - ????
Estimated budget $1200 ish
I'm not in a huge rush to build a system. If I end up playing BF3 on the console only that's fine, but D3 is a must play. So if there is a reason to wait, like the next series of GPUs and Intel CPUs, let me know. I'm not that up to date on tech.
I'm just looking for any gotchas, case compatibility issues, and suggestions. I'd like room to add a sound card and have USB 3.0.
Thanks
